I just returned from the 5th Annual Disability Pride Parade. Those of you who were lucky enough to be there may still be on the same high as I am. It was a great day. People had a lot of fun. The program was upbeat; folks dancing on the plaza. The music was outstanding.
We had some glitches -- like the Drum & Bugle Corps never showing up. But nobody seemed to notice.
As Tony Coelho and a lot of other folks said -- we've started something here. We should all be proud -- not just because of our disabilities -- but because we were able to pull off a first-rate outdoor event with nothing more than our dreams and our hard work.
That sums it up beautifully. Thanks Janice, the committee, our wonderful sponsors, Grand Marshal Tony Coelho and all the people who volunteered to help make July 26, 2008's parade the BEST YET!!!!
